Dr. Michael Sweeney is an assistant professor in the Division of Child Neurology. He joined the Department of Neurology at the University of Louisville in 2016. He graduated from the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed his residency in child neurology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. He then went on to become the first pediatric neurologist to complete an autoimmune neurology fellowship at the University of Utah as a James T. Lubin fellow through the Transverse Myelitis Association. Upon joining as faculty at the University of Louisville, he started the regions first-ever clinic to treat children specifically with immune-mediated neurologic disorders.
