Dr. Shakira Shanker is a Board Certified Neurologist with an expertise in Clinical Neurophysiology and Neuromuscular Neurology. She completed her medical internship at Montefiore Medical Center and subsequently pursued her residency in Neurology at North Shore University Hospital- Zucker School of Medicine affiliated with Hofstra University, where she served as chief neurology resident.Dr. Shanker completed her fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology where she was trained extensively in neurophysiology, electronics, nerve conduction studies, electromyography, single fiber EMG, motor unit analysis and disorders of the neuromuscular junction. Furthermore, she was trained in epilepsy and the care of patients with epilepsy.
