Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare: My love for medicine stems from my father who was a surgeon and became the inspiration for my future endeavors and genuine desire to help and care for people. Since a very young age, I have dreamed of becoming a doctor. I would play with my dolls and pretend to give them medications, do a physical exam, listen to their heart, perform surgeries and bandage their imaginary wounds. Because the doctor pretend play in my childhood gave me such a joy and satisfaction, I was determined to pursue a career in medicine. What I want my patients to know about me: I have a diverse background.
