Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare: I decided to pursue a career in medicine after receiving compassionate and attentive care during and after my spinal fusion surgery to correct my scoliosis (curvature of the spine) when I was 13 years old. I admired the doctors and nurses who took care of me during that time in my life which ultimately ignited my passion and goal to become a registered nurse. After working as a registered nurse for 7 years, I knew I wanted to continue to grow and expand my knowledge by becoming a nurse practitioner. As a nurse practitioner, I want to provide compassion and quality care to all my patients.
