A German board certified neurosurgeon with fellowship training in endovascular neurosurgery, Dr. Ruth Thiex completed her medical school and PhD degree with distinction at Aachen University in Germany, where she then went on to residency training in Neurosurgery and graduated in 2004. In the same year, she joined faculty at the Department of Neurosurgery at Aachen University and was appointed extracurricular Professor of Neurosurgery in 2011. After a two-year fellowship in endovascular neurosurgery at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston, she stayed on staff until she relocated to Seattle.
